Ojo Caliente Hot Springs

Oh home sweet hot springs.

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort and Spa in Ojo Caliente, NM
Sweet baby Jesus. This place is a masterpiece in terms of hot spring elemental dynamics. I must admit that I was reluctant to allow myself the pleasure of an RV accommodating hot spring spa resort in one of the first evenings I had embarked on a month journey to the East. My intentions had me headed towards remote hot springs, yet my heart and mind shifted gears to simply say , "Hey man, you had a brutally cold night "boondocking" it in Hyde National State Park...go park this bus, get a massage, float in all the springs, and chill." Thus, I went with the flow towards commercialized, yet quaintly majestic hot springs.

I awoke to Rio Ojo Caliente directly across my RV parking site where I landed the night before. The RV camping was very private with hookups included <= always dope. On another note, my cat slowly began to adapt to temporarily settling in random woods with different climate zones.

Upon settling into the RV spot, I ventured into the most magical relaxation days. I started my resort experience with an hour massage called Ancient Echoes with Paul the LMT. He used cool tapotment techniques that helped me feel like a pool of water... very nice. After the massage, I headed to the various hot springs.

Lithia Pool (my favorite) - improves mood & aids in digestion. I burped every time I entered and exited this pool.haha

Soda Pool (2nd favorite) - Silent Area

Iron Pools - The big rock in the right corner is ancient..people used to come to this rock in times of famine. Also, little pebbles made up the floor of this pool. I felt like lead when I stayed in it for more than 25 min, creepy cool.

Mud Bath - I adore this station.. I felt like a happy dog pig. I even met a woman named Raquel who enjoyed a similar experience as we shook our muddy butts together in the shower area with buckets. Fabulous.

There are also hiking trails with sweet views.

Last, and absolutely not least.. I met Rebecca at this spa on a magical note. She has a very similar story to me. She ended up at the hot spring spa in an attempt to listen to her heart and just relax, as well. She was traveling from Portland, OR by herself , and had passed through Flagstaff around the time I lifted off from Flagstaff, AZ. No words can truly describe our ongoing connection that includes relentless synchronicity. Stay tuned for more appearances by Rebecca in different cities as I journey East.
We labeled ourselves as shooting stars with the same trajectory. Oh sweet life 😜🌹
